Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which casino gaming is not legal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime destination, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; however, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods around this, as is true of most border crossings.
The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the common table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel complex that contains many conveniences on top of the gambling hall, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and 88 tables.
